I had a mixed experience at Bear Cave RV Campground. On the plus side, the scenery along the St. Joseph River was absolutely beautiful, and the staff, especially Yolanda and Katie, were incredibly helpful. However, I did encounter some issues, particularly with muddy spots and a leak in the ladies' room. Overall, it's a lovely site, but it could benefit from a little more maintenance. 🌳🏞️
Rooms

The grassy areas for tents were nice, but full hookups were quite limited.
Service

Yolanda and Katie were the hardest working and friendliest staff I've encountered at a campground.
Location

The campground's location on the river offered great views of boats, adding to the charm of my stay.

I enjoyed the hot dogs available on-site, which were a nice quick meal.

While the bathrooms were generally nice, I noticed a leak that could use attention.

The campground has potential with a nice staff. but it really needs improvement in several areas. The pool was closed during my visit, and I found the cave unkempt and also closed. The full hookup sites were not reservable, and I was disappointed with the overall setup.
Rooms

The layout wasn't ideal. many sites were cramped, and I struggled to find a good spot for my trailer.
Service
6.0
The staff was friendly upon check-in, but unfortunately, some information was lacking, especially regarding store hours.
Location

The campground felt isolated. it was hard to access the sites and navigate through narrow roads.
Dining

I couldn't buy firewood due to poor stock management, which was disappointing since the store hours weren't clear.
Facilities
6.0
While I did not use the bathhouse or clubhouse, they looked decent. yet overall facilities like the pool and cave were lacking.

I had a mixed experience at Bear Cave RV Campground. The new management is working hard to update the amenities, and I appreciated the spacious park layout and well-maintained grounds. However, there were several issues, like a lack of hot water in the showers and some amenities being unavailable during my stay.
Rooms

The sites were unassigned and first-come-first-serve. I found a back-in full hookup site that offered decent shade, which I liked.
Service

Tracy, who checked me in, was wonderful and made sure I was all set. However, the check-in process was a bit frustrating as I needed to call a busy number to get the gate code.
Location

The campground is conveniently located about 30 minutes from Warren Dunes and St. Joseph, providing plenty of nearby activities to enjoy.
Dining

I didn't use the dining options, but I did enjoy some pizza outside of the park. There were limited options on-site.
Facilities

I found the laundry service reasonably priced, but the clubhouse was often closed early, and the hot tub was out of order. Additionally, the bathrooms were antiquated and in need of renovations.

I recently had a stay at Bear Cave RV Campground, and it was a mixed bag. While the location is peaceful and I got a nice full hookup despite it being a busy weekend, the pool was down for maintenance which was a bummer. Overall, I met some friendly folks and enjoyed my time, but there were definitely some issues that brought my experience down.

My stay at Bear Cave RV Campground was quite disappointing. While the setting is beautiful, the facilities are neglected and the service lacks direction. It's not the tranquil escape I was hoping for, and I won't be returning anytime soon.

The site was uncomfortably tight for my 38' trailer and only offered water and electric, not the full hookups I requested.

The pool and hot tub were not operational, and the bathroom facilities were not up to standard.
